The Holy Spirit and Prayer

The Holy Spirit and Prayer

As we endeavor to share the good news, we need the Holy Spirit to give us help.  So our prayers should be to ask for His help in every aspect of our witness.

We need His leading in our daily activities and who we should witness to.

We need to have a heart or compassion for whoever we witness to.  This too is the work of the Holy Spirit.

We need to trust Him for the courage, words, power and faith.

Because witnessing opportunities come up suddenly and unexpectedly, I think that it is good to pray that for the whole day that we will be available and yielded.  Then you will feel free to bear witness on the spur of the moment. You do not have to feel spiritual to respond to an opportunity. Believe that the Holy Spirit will help and empower on short notice.

Be sure to thank Him (the Holy Spirit) in prayer after each encounter — believing that God will use it to His Glory.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Phi 4:6-7)

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. (Mat 10:16)
