a computer and its connective parts. |

EXCEL CLASS 101 OBJECTIVE: The objective of this class is to familiarize each student with Microsoft Excel functions at the beginning level. DESCRIPTION: Class sessions will involve 10 weeks of level 1 Excel. This course will teach the skills and concepts necessary to create spreadsheets. FOCUS: Successful completion of the course will enable you to produce spreadsheets with informational data. COURSE PREREQUISITES: To insure your success with this course, it is recommended that you first take:

EXCEL CLASS 102 OBJECTIVE: The objective of this class is to familiarize each student with Microsoft Excel functions at the second level. DESCRIPTION: Class sessions will involve 10 weeks of intermediate level Excel. This course will teach the skills and concepts necessary to begin using the charting and list-management capabilities of Excel. FOCUS: Successful completion of the course will enable you to produce charts to graphically represent your worksheet data. COMPUTER HARDWARE 101 OBJECTIVE: The objective of this class is to familiarize each student with the hardware functions of a computer. DESCRIPTION: Class sessions will involve complete disassembly and reassembly of a computer several times during the course. ALL components will be identified as well as functionally defined. FOCUS: Successful completion of the course will enable you to accomplish successful upgrades, do troubleshooting in case of hardware failure, build computers even in the future, understand hardware requirements for different applications, introduce basic networking and examine peripheral components. DESCRIPTION: Class sessions will involve examination of various input and output devices, multimedia and Internet. MICROSOFT POWER POINT® 101 OBJECTIVE: The objective of this class is to familiarize each student with Microsoft PowerPoint® DESCRIPTION: Microsoft PowerPoint is a powerful tool to create professional looking presentations and slide shows. PowerPoint allows you to construct presentations from scratch or by using the easy to use wizard. Class sessions will involve 10 weeks of PowerPoint. MICRO-BUSINESS 101 OBJECTIVE: The objective of this class is to coach students as they develop basic knowledge and practical skills to be able to start and run their own small business. DESCRIPTION: The course will consist of practical theory about start-up and management of business, Biblical principles related to business and finance, and a hands-on computer/internet laboratory to work with eBay. The course will also provide useful reference materials and resources, case studies and ideas/suggestions for potential business and real-life testimonies of success. The course will cover topics such as: Product/Service Determination - Cost Analysis- Investment - Profit Margins - Accounting - Ownership Structures - Marketing - Inventory Control - Financing FOCUS: Successful completion of this course will enable you to understand key business concepts and terminology, write a Business Plan and buy and sell on eBay. |
